Application Form<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Categories<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Strings, Brass \/ Woodwinds, Mallets, Piano and Voice<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Awards<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Four Winners will be selected to perform one movement of a concerto with the Jewish Community Orchestra on February 9, 202<\/strong><\/strong>6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The competition is open to all students 18 years or younger for all instruments<\/strong>, and ages 16-21 for voice<\/strong> as of September, 202<\/b>5. Competitors must be studying currently with a private teacher, reside within a 50 mile radius of the Portland Area and be available for all rehearsals – see the schedule below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Repertoire<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The performance piece must be the same as the audition video and will consist of one movement from a standard concerto (or comparable short work)<\/b> or opera repertoire (2-3 arias)<\/b>, and must be less than 15 minutes in length. (Note: Pianists do not need to have a second piano as accompaniment.)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Audition<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Submit (1) Application Form with student, parent and teacher signature: (2) DVD of performance (with accompanist for voice and instruments other than piano) (must be video \u2013 no CDs). Youtube or video link accepted (must work however!) in lieu of DVD if desired. (3) Short biography of performer as indicated on application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winners will be asked to submit a high quality digital photo to use on concert posters and social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Schedule<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Oct 31, 2025<\/td>Application form and audition DVDs (or Youtube or video links) due by 6:00 P.M. to Dr. Appert.  E-mail with Youtube link is acceptable but the link MUST work!  Please print your e-mail address clearly on the form!<\/td><\/tr>
Nov 07, 2025<\/td>Winners will be notified by Friday, November 7 by e-mail and asked to confirm acceptance.<\/td><\/tr>
