Four Winners will be selected to perform one movement of a concerto with the Jewish Community Orchestra on February 17, 2013.

Eligibility

The competition is open to all students 18 years or younger for all instrumental, and ages 16-21 for voice as of September, 2012. Competitors must be studying currently with a private teacher, reside within a 50 mile radius of the Portland Area and be available for rehearsal on Wednesday evenings January 30, February 6, and February 13, 2013 from 7:00 – 9:30 pm and on Saturday February 16, time to be determined for the dress rehearsal.

Repertoire

The performance piece must be the same as the audition DVD and will consist of one movement from a standard concerto or opera repertoire, and must be less than 15 minutes in length. Score and orchestrations must be readily available and reasonable in cost.

Audition

Submit (1) Application Form with student, parent and teacher signature: (2) DVD of performance (with accompanist for voice and instruments other than piano) (must be video – no CDs): (3) A high quality Photo 4 x 5 or larger: (4) Short biography of performer as indicated on application.
